On furthur analysis...

So my dear Friend wrote me the excerpt below and asked me my views...
Excerpt:
Yet another perspective is we believe what we are from what we see in others. An extract from the Zahir -
"2 men come out of a fire. 1's face is blackened and other's is not. The man with a clean face starts to wash his face, and not the other one. The black faced fellow, seeing the clean one, thinks he too is clean. While the clean face thinks he, like his friend, is blackned too."

Your thoughts on this one are welcome ?

Response:

I think both thoughts are correct...Osho says that we tend to reflect our inner feelings on others, defines our emotions ..thats why when everything is going good we behave nicely to others...while when things are not going our way...we get angry that others are inflicting this damage to you....a little deep criticism of self in solitude reveals this...
I think Zahir is from Paulo Coelho. He is also correct the aspect of human nature here he is talking about is perception, how we percieve ourselves. Both men coming our of the same situation think they have gone through the same damage.since they cant evaluate selves on there own, they believe I must have what other has.
I think it means that the experiences of 2 people going through a same set of conditions are never same (hence the clean / black face). But they believe they share something common (washing of face by the clean faced person).

So both saying arent opposite in view but pointing towards different aspect of the human nature.

Anyone else having other thoughts???
